Rozenhof, Cape Town

Rozenhof remains the oldest, and arguably the best restaurant on Kloof Street. Warm and inviting with friendly service, Rozenhof is among the most reliable restaurants in the region. Situated in a beautiful and robust historic Cape house, the decor is homely, with chunky and well polished old kitchen tables standing firmly on gleaming Oregon pine floors, offset by milky-coffee walls which are peppered with art for sale. There is a small menu of tasty food. Several classics include the cheese souffle, the crisp roast duck with fig and marsala sauce, and herb-crusted beef with cabernet sauce. There are good vegetarian options and absolutely to-die-for desserts. The wine list is small, but there is plenty available by the glass.
