Established in 1997, Wijnhuis is a beautiful place at the Dorpsmeent building. With an extensive and very impressive wine list to choose from, the restaurant is more of a wine-tasting establishment that serves food. Receiving wines from a number of wineries in Stellenbosch, Wijnhuis is a charming place that started with local wines and has extended to some of the most prized ones in the city. To go with your wine, they serve some delicious dishes. Do try their wide variety of antipasti, beef carpaccio-dry aged & thinly sliced sirloin, delicious array of seafood and you can finish off with a Malva pudding, which is a South African warm brandy pudding served with an Amarula. Wijnhuis is also affiliated with SMAC Art Gallery that showcases artists like Fred Schimmel, Kay Hassan, Peter Clarke, Johann Louw and Erik Laubscher.
