YoungBlackman Gallery, Cape Town

The YoungBlackman Gallery is not so much a gallery space with regular hours and exhibitions, as it is a space for creative projects to take place. Two local creative talents, Ed Young and Matthew Blackman, took charge of this intimate venue in a historic building with large floor to ceiling windows in 2009 to form an exhibit space that would refresh the art scene in the city. Do not expect to see regular exhibitions or standard opening hours. The windows act as a display to the exhibits inside - anyone can view the projects on display at any time of day or night while walking by. It is an exciting development on the local art scene and well worth a look. -Bordeaux Martin
