Linder Auditorium, Johannesburg

Part of the Johannesburg College of Education, this concert-hall is rented out fast and furiously way for short-run music seasons of all classical kinds, including the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, and for lectures and seminars. It holds 1,060 people in comfort, and there is good auditorium lighting if you want to follow your musical score. The bar is usually open. As for food, there is plenty of space for home-prepared or catered trays; even the Student Union is used at times. As a precaution, book in advance or at least telephone the theater first about times and prices, and about where to use your credit-card. There is limited disabled seating.
