This living museum is a reconstructed village in the Northern Sotho style of about 250 years ago. The village is meant to demonstrate the ways of life of the Bakone, a group within the Nothern Sotho tribe, and includes two lapas, or homesteads. Learn about basic practices such as maize grinding or beer making, and purchase crafts from the demonstrations at the local shop. Guides reveal the cultural and historical roots of the Bakone people, and nearby nature reserves provide additional sightseeing opportunities.
