Situated on one of the world's longest streets, Church Street, Heroe's Acres is one of the city's most fascinating attractions. The cemetery was established in 1867 and has contained within the graves of renowned citizens and public figures. Among the people buried there is "Breaker" Morant, an Australian, executed for the murder of a missionary during the Second Anglo-Boer War. Surrounded by beautiful Jacaranda trees, the cemetery is open to the public daily.
