Overview
This house belonged to one of South Africa's foremost statesmen, Jan Christian Smuts. Smuts was a philosopher, a farmer, lawyer and a botanist. The homestead is made out of wood and steel and tells a story just by looking at it. The furniture and decorations inside the house are still the same as it was when Jan lived there, with just little renovation having been done to keep the place standing. Visitors to the farm house can get to enjoy Smuts' love for farming, by taking a walk in his interesting yard.
