Overview

A very reputed restaurant, Do Dang Roast Duck Restaurant is very close to the embassy district of Beijing. It is one of the top five duck houses in Beijing and is also voted as 'Best Beijing Duck' in the 2007 Beijing Reader Restaurant Awards. If you're a duck meal virgin, the restaurant has a booklet on each table explaining the different ways to eat the duck. A variety of wines and beers are available to complement the meal as well.

  Beijing "Best Peking Duck" "This particular Da Dong has the best Peking duck in Beijing. Yes, it is a bold statement, but it's because Da Dong has transformed a traditional roast duck eatery into a modern, upscale dining experience. Da Dong's interpretation of the famous roast duck isn't traditional. In fact it is leaner - a bit of a "Peking Duck Lite", with much less fat underneath the duck's skin. Most other well-known restaurants like Quan Jude Roast Duck 全聚德烤鴨店, or the authentic hutong experience Li Qun Roast Duck 利群烤鴨店 (coming up in a future post) see the fact as having fat under the duck's skin as a plus. The signature dish of Da Dong is the "Sea Cucumber". The menu is beautifully photographed and bi-lingual, with modern versions of the usual classics. The best looking "Kao Ya dian" in China.
