Karaiya Spice House, Beijing

Karaiya Spice House, located in trendy Sanlitun Village, serves classic Hunanese cuisine adapted to suit the Western palate. Signature dishes include marinated bridge of hot and sour pork ribs, steamed whole Mandarin fish with red and yellow chilies, and spicy pepper-diced rib-eye steak. The two-story restaurant is elegantly decorated with a wooden lattice across the entire ceiling and a number of beautiful Chinese antiques on the shelves. Full-length windows along one entire wall of the restaurant offer excellent views over Sanlitun Village.
