The Li family were chefs to the Emperors in the Ming and Qing dynasties. This is the very same place where Richard Nixon and Henry Kissenger dined, hosted by Mao and Zhou (1972), in fact all heads of state visiting Beijing dine here: Bill Clinton, George Bush, Warren Buffet, Bill Gates etc. Home-style restaurant, housed in an old Beijing styled courtyard house. Situated in the Yangfang hutong Deshengmennei Dajie Xicheng district. The the old Beijing - narrow streets and alleyways. Downtown Beijing near the Legendale Hotel Dong Cheng District there is a NEW "Li Jia Cai" but with the same menu, it is more than double the original Hutong location price. It is extremely deluxe but just doesn't have the old world charm of the authentic Courtyard house in the hutong. Set-menus range from RMB280 to RMB2200 per head at the old original Hutong. The menu is unique in that, one or 20 persons can dine alone or together. This is the set menu for two persons at the lower end: see pics: http://globalgoodfood.blogspot.com/2010/11/globalgoodfood.html...   Read More
