Honore de Balzac would be proud - volumes of books line this double-jointed European-style café, which serves serious enough coffee to fuel Balzac's infamous addiction and wire up the literati of downtown Beijing. Stone arches separate the drinking chambers, in one of which customers can pick out CDs. Each table comes with a Bunsen burner (no joke) coffee maker. Coffee made a la wherever, and sometimes at the customer's table. The multi-page drink menu also includes juices of most common fruits and the alcoholic by-products of many ryes, wheat, grapes and hops.
