The That's Beijing Best Music Venue Award winner of 2004 - 2007, the postage sized club faced the wrecking ball as Beijing prepared for the 2008 Olympics. This just gave the owners the impetus to move into a bigger space, and what a choice they made! Over 500 square meters can fit up to 1,000 people in the former courtyard residence of Duanqirui, a government official. Retaining so many special details of this historic spot yet making it a functioning musical venue must have been quite a challenge. Attracting some of the biggest names to come through Beijing seems to have been the easy part.
