Overview

Some locals argue that this is the best Sichuan restaurant this side of the Yangtze. Be warned, Sichuan food is not for the weak. Sichuan peppers numb your mouth so you don't feel them spontaneously combust. Shanghainese and Cantonese specialties are also on offer for diners who like a little variety with their fire. The focus here is on food and friends, and the foreign and local clientele are not complaining. Semi-private compartments don't keep the dining hall noise from pouring in. This is a good place to come and unwind with a big group of friends. Beer and free soft drinks are offered to help diners cool down their tongues a bit, and get ready for more. Specialties such as Zhang Cha Ya (Sichuan-style duck) are well-worth a try.
