Overview
The Cheney Stadium is a historical landmark in Tacoma. It opened in 1960 and has been faithfully serving as a ball park and venue. Today, it is the home field for the Tacoma Rainiers minor-league baseball team of the AAA Pacific Coast League. The stadium has a rare charm to it, with murals and plaques on the concourse and the life-size statue of Mr. Cheney, the founder of the stadium, in a seat behind the home-plate. The stadium can seat around 9600 people at full capacity and has also been used as an event venue.
