The Dara Shikoh Library, located in the grounds of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, is housed in one of the oldest buildings of Delhi. The library is named after Mughal Emperor Dara Shikoh, eldest son of Shahjahan, who built this grand structure. The present library belongs to the Archeological Department of the Delhi Administration. Its interior walls reflect an elegant Mughal styled decor, whereas the exteriors of the building bear shades of British architecture. There is an archaeological museum inside the library which houses a collection of medieval items. Admission is free.
