Overview
Shalimar Gardens, once one of the most important Mughal gardens of the city, now lies in desolation and neglect. Aurangzeb was crowned king in this place in the seventeenth century. These gardens are very famous for the Shish Mahal, a mini-palace whose interiors are built with glass and mirrors, constructed by another great Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan.
