Joker's Bar , Bali

Jokers has all the hallmarks decor-wise of a typical American diner and is perhaps more satisfying for an evening meal than a night of late night drinking. There is a fine menu of western meals which cover pretty much all bases.  Healthy lunchtime snacks include chunky baguettes filled with roast beef and smoked chicken, Mediterranean tapas and pasta. There is also a great selection of oriental noodles, Japanese teppanyaki and gourmet versions of typical Indonesian fare such as nasi campur and sate. There is a well stocked bar with early evening happy hour but is not the most atmospheric of places; the clientele mainly consists of young European and North American families on vacation. It does however boast a prime spot on busy Jalan Legian and is a good spot for a meal before hitting Kuta's raucous clubs. - Ray Montgomery
