Lebih Beach, Bali

This beach lies in Lebih Village, on the south coast of Gianyar (about six kilometers from the heart of Gianyar city). Very popular with the locals and famous as an ideal surf-casting spot, it still manages to remain virtually free from tourism. Come and see the beautiful black sand and hear the pounding waves. During the ngaben (cremation) season the beach becomes particularly crowded as villagers come to spread the ashes of the deceased at sea. As the main destination during the melasti ceremony, the Balinese flock here in droves to pray and purify themselves on the beach side.
