Paulaner Brauhaus, Jakarta

In Grand Indonesia Shopping Town you will find this popular upscale German brewpub, one of many Paulaner Brauhaus' that are part of a worldwide chain. The beer is, of course, exemplary, and all are brewed on-site under the expert eye of Alex Buchner, the senior brewmaster. The cuisine is typically German - heavy on the sausage and cured meats, schnitzel, goulash, sauerkraut and spaetzle. The desserts are excellent, if a little on the heavy side, from the black forest cake to the Emperors Pancake with apple compote. Make sure you save plenty of room for them. Call for reservations.
