Overview
This hillside park north of Ohori Park and overlooking Hakata Bay is famous among local residents for its Cherry trees. When the blossoms open in early spring, you can bet that the place will become a lively sight of lanterns and revelry. But it is not a bad place to visit for some peace and quiet at other times of the year, either. A small shrine on the hill attracts some worshipers, but most simply come to relax, especially if it is the evening. If you are on the city expressway traveling west, you can see Nishi Koen—there is even an exit.
