Overview
Beautiful Imamiya Shrine is an interesting pagan parallel to the Zen Buddhist Daitokuji just to the south. The shrine offers prayers to drive off disease and epidemics. If you are suffering the aches and pains of meditating too much, rub the black rock located in the middle of the shrine's grounds and then rub the parts of your body that are causing you distress. Just to the east of the shrine two traditional shops sell rice dumplings with miso--a local delicacy known as abura mochi.
