Open only in the evenings, Wakamatsu is an unpretentious old-style dinner spot in Shinsaibashi with traditional Japanese matting on which you can stretch out your legs and relax. It serves generous dinner sets that change daily, with lots of vegetables, fresh fish and Japanese deep-fries (tempura). Although you can order a la carte, the full course meals are extremely popular as they include a little bit of all the best of Japanese cuisine. Courses start at JPY5,000 and are best accompanied by rice wine (sake), of which there is a wide range on offer.
