Overview
Opened in 1998, as a memorial to Professor Yaichi Aizu, [1881-1956] who started the Art History department at Waseda, Chinese art is the core of the collection. Other sections include archaeological artifacts (10,300 pieces), modern and contemporary Japanese paintings, calligraphy and a very interesting section on costumes and accouterments of Japan's northern aboriginals, the Ainu.
