Aux Bacchanales Kioicho is one of a chain of three French-style cafe / restaurants in Tokyo, but it is the one with the prettiest view. It is across from a park full of cherry trees, which blossom in late March, ensuring excited sightseers crowding the restaurant in spring. The decor is impeccably French - the interior is light and airy and busy waiters rush past the long zinc bar. The menu is also of a high standard - if you just want a snack, try one of the 70 varieties of bread on sale in the bakery accompanied with a cup of strong espresso, or if you're in the mood for something a little more substantial, go for the generously portioned steak frites (and be sure to accompany it with a glass of Belgian ale).
