People in Japan aren't shy about public drinking. Seeing someone down a beer while riding the train is standard, so being allowed to drink in the park should come as no surprise at all. Well, what would be considered illegal in most cities is celebrated at the Bacardi Midpark Cafe. Although it's only a seasonal drinking haunt sandwiched between Tokyo Midtown office towers, the Bacardi Midpark Cafe is a cozy, wide-open cafe replete with a variety of libations, nibbles and more substantial meals. You'll have to put up with the uneven tables and chairs and an occasional gust of wind, but if the weather is right and the sun is shining, there's no better place to spend an afternoon. The cafe closes for the season in late August. -Stephen Lebovits
