Overview

This museum features Jomon pottery, stone pieces and shell jewelry. The archaeology enthusiast would be pleased to visit this crammed but rewarding collection spanning Yayoi through Nara periods. Shards from ancient kiln sites, a coffin and roof tiles are included. Do not miss an outstanding grouping of Haniwa horses. Here also is an opportunity to see a cross-section through a shell mound. Nearly all articles come from documented Japanese sites.
