Samovar is Tokyo's oldest Russian restaurant. It is beginning to look old, but there is no need to be fooled. It is lively and it specializes in stews with dumplings, thick soups served with crusty Russian rye bread, goulashes and a skewer of lamb or beef. All of this can be washed down with cold, viscous Polish vodka poured to the rim of the glass and good Czech pilsner.
