The Ruby Room, Tokyo

The Ruby Room is a cocktail lounge featuring both DJ and live music. The interior is plush with red velvet couches, black stools, and a a shimmering bar. The room itself is not very big, so people end up a bit squished on the dance floor, but happy none the less, since the folks at Ruby Room know how to throw a party. The bar features an extensive drink menu, including cocktails, beers, and wines. There is also a food menu, courtesy of the restaurant Sonoma on the floor below. The music is varied--rock, house, techno, and hip hop are all featured, depending on the day. Mondays and Tuesdays feature Open Mic Night where local and foreign acts are welcome to perform. Cover charges vary from free to 2000JPY, depending on the event.
