If you are feeling nostalgic and want to experience the post war years of Japan, the early fifties, when the country was working frantically to reconstruct the infrastructure and industry that was destroyed in the war, then check-out Star Shokudo restaurant. Not only does it still serve some of the dishes that made it popular in those days, but it also oozes the atmosphere of the fifties. There is a good collection of toys and posters from the 1950s to enjoy. One of the old favorites of the Star Shokudo is hayashi sauce no omu rice, which is an omelet filled with fried rice and topped with hashed beef in gravy. It has been on the menu since the restaurant opened. It is delicious and filling. But do not stop there; the menu has many other delights that you will enjoy just as much.
