Tansaiboh is a "cook-it-yourself restaurant" that features charbroiled cuisine and fresh sashimi. Tansaiboh is located in the heart of the Yokohama downtown-shopping district. Tansaiboh has become very popular, and reservations are recommended, particular on weekends and for groups. The secret of Tansaiboh's popularity is Sumibi, or wood charcoal, cuisine. Each table has its own hibachi, or charcoal brazier, filled with high-grade wood charcoal. Fresh plates of food are brought to the table and each person cooks the food to his or her own liking.
