Since its opening in 1991, La Vela has been popular with local businessmen for its antipasto buffet, which includes homemade pizza and pasta. A full dinner course would include: an appetizer of parma ham, pasta in broccoli and bacon sauce, crispy lobster, fish (sea bream in bell pepper sauce) or beef fillet in nut sauce, chocolate mousse and coffee. Wines are available. On the second floor of the Yokohama Grand Inter-Continental Hotel (the sail-shaped hotel at Minato Mirai) La Vela's large windows offer a sea-level view of Yokohama's harbor. Besides red tablecloths and white napkins, there is an eye-catching array of jars packed with various pasta and olive oils.
