Ah, yes, the taste of the old country, except really it is the taste of the new country—Macau. On Coloane the pace of life is slower, almost as slow as the service in some cases, but as long as you are not in a rush, Nga Tim will satisfy your lust for a Big Mac-anese meal! The setting is excellent, located near the Xavier Chapel, making this cafe popular with tourists and expatriates alike. The seafood is good, fresh and tangy, especially the grouper, and the caldo verde is indeed green and wholesome. Clams in black bean and chili sauce, scallops with broccoli, grilled duck in lemon sauce and steamed chicken with garlic, washed down with Portuguese wine, beer or fresh fruit juice, are favorites with patrons.
