The first 18-hole public golf course in Johor Bahru lies within one of its biggest townships, Taman Johor Jaya. Making do without the usual frills of a country club, it offers an affordable option for no-nonsense golfing (no night golfing, though). Beginners can drop by the pro shop or rent golf clubs and golf shoes. Caddies are not available for hire, but one can rent a buggy at pretty reasonable rates. Besides a challenging game, players can look forward to a pleasant scenery and tree-lined fairways. It opens daily from 7a.
