Nero Vivo, Kuala Lumpur

Paolo Guiati, the force behind many a success story in Phuket and Bangkok has hit another jackpot with this Italian eatery. Nestled inside an old house, Nero Vivo's interiors are sleek, contemporary and elegant, which can be quite deceptive. Nero Vivo is not one of those fine-dining jazzy Italian restaurants with a highly priced menu. On the contrary, the owners here insist it is nothing more than a modest tratorria. The food is not so modest, though. You can pick from the Fusilli sauteed with fresh prawns or the oven baked lasagna, as well as the tagliatelle with veal. The taste is unmatched, (almost like eating in the home of an Italian aunt) and so is the hospitality.
