Medi Cafe (The), Langkawi

Located on the boardwalk of the Awana hotel, the restaurant overlooks the marina. Patrons can sit inside or outside and enjoy 'people watching' and daydreaming while gazing at the yachts. It is also ideal for sipping cocktails at sunset. The place gained fame as the venue for large public receptions (attended by the Prime Minister) for Azhar Mansur, Malaysia's hero who sailed solo around the world. The Mediterranean inspired decor blends with the rest of the hotel. The extensive menu features both local and international fare, including steak and barbecue on Saturday nights. Beverages include juice, beer, wine and liquor.
