Rice cultivation is the oldest industry in Malaysia, and you can see paddy fields everywhere in Langkawi. If you ever wonder how paddy is cultivated, educate yourself at this museum. See the equipment used, methods practised, rice-based delicacies and side activities of the villagers, such as kite flying and fishing. You can also read about the famous folk tale Burnt Rice. The birdhouses, scarecrows, chickens, ducks and buffaloes roaming freely will bring back memories of yesteryear. Other attractions include a rooftop garden, a rice farm, a souvenir shop and a herbal garden.
