Overview
This tiny enclave of humble fishing folks at the south eastern tip of the island achieved mainstream tourism renown because of a size 33 left foot imprint on a boulder by the beach. The origin of the Bigfoot is highly contested, with the Chinese earnestly believing Admiral Cheng Ho was the Bigfoot, Indian elders saying that the monkey God, Hanuman, planted a step here while leaping the oceans, and native Malays pointing to three other similar footprints elsewhere meaning it must have been made by a fleeing giant. While pondering the mystery, sample the seafood eateries nearby, they are among the island's best.
