Penang Museum & Art Gallery

This significant landmark, Penang Museum & Art Gallery, listed in the Penang Heritage Trail, houses permanent exhibits including photographs, maps, antiques, furniture, documents, paintings and other relics showcasing Penang's culture and history. Exhibits and displays feature communities, customs, costumes and historic places such as the harbor, Fort Cornwallis, streets of Penang, municipal history, Penang riots, the Japanese occupation, houses of worship and traditional trades. Other exhibits in special rooms include painting collections of a few colonial artists, the Straits Chinese collections, hand-written Qurans and Malay weapons.
