Overview
This is the former theatre of rail union workers. In the beginning the troupe performed in clubs, at railroad construction factories, sometimes even right outside on the streets. The theatre was founded in 1925, and in 1959 it took its current name, that of the great Russian writer Nikolai Gogol. The building itself was constructed at the beginning of the 20th century. The group's repertoire consists mostly of plays by contemporary authors.
