This cinema belongs to the National Film Fund of Russia and specializes in Russian, Soviet and foreign classics. It is not a completely art-house venue however -- there are plenty of commercially successful films shown as well. It often showcases Soviet filmmakers, otherwise lost, from the 1920s and 30s. One of Illuzion's traditions is the display of films stolen by the Nazis during the 1940, mainly pirate stories and musical comedies.
