Serebrianyi Vek (Silver Century), Moscow

The home of wealthy merchants in pre-revolutionary times and a bathhouse during the Soviet period, this has now been renovated and restored to become one of Moscow's lushest eateries. The restaurant is decorated in a classical style, with claret and gold colours predominating. Often there is some live music played, including traditional Russian music. Serebrianyi Vek specializes in classic Russian cuisine and offers more than 300 original dishes. There are a great variety of appetizers such as Bliny (Russian pancakes) with black caviar, many different Pirozhki (cakes) and Crab Salad, plus hot dishes such as Stuffed Perch.
