Overview

This innovative theatre was founded in 1993 by award winning actor Aleksander Kaliagin and a group of graduates from MKhAT (the Moscow Art Theatre) where he was a teacher. One of the theatre's key approaches is to invite actors and directors from other theatres to participate in staging the plays. In this way the 19 house actors improve by soaking up external influences. In 1997 theatre gained a permanent home in a commercial area of Moscow.
