Overview
One of the grand-fathers of Moscow cinemas, this was the first movie-theatre to feature sound when it opened in 1931. For a long time it was the city's major cinema, showing all the latest Soviet movies. The theatre was and is still used for prestigious film weeks and festivals. Reconstructed in 1996, it is now properly equipped with modern technology, and holds a hefty 750 people in comfortable chairs, so comfortable in fact, that the web-site publicity claims you'll have a good time even if the film isn't up to scratch!
