One of Singapore's largest temples, Siong Lim Temple has been the center of Buddhist activity for the neighboring communities since 1908. It was founded by Sek Hean Wei, a Chinese abbot who had been on his way home after a pilgrimage when he was persuaded by Low Kim Pong to establish this temple. Low, a Hokkien merchant and philanthropist, supplied the land and funds. The temple was gazetted as a national monument in 1980. Admission: Free.
