Overview

This memorial is to those killed demonstrating against the military dictatorship in October 1973. It is a conical pillar on a pedestal in the center of a small garden area. The names of those who died when tanks advanced on the crowd that gathered on Ratchadamnoen Klang, are listed on the pillar. A gallery of photographs showing the events of October 1973 are displayed behind the memorial, in a small exhibition. Downstairs is a library and office area. Services are held at the memorial on the anniversary each year, and more recent protests also use the area to remember the fallen. - AH
