Overview
Joint Base Lewis-McChord is a base that contains both Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base. Fort Lewis was named after Meriwether Lewis and is one of the largest and most modern military reservations in the United States of America. The McChord Air Force Base contains the the famous Fort Lewis Military Museum to preserve and document the Forts history, the Madigan Army Medical Center and the Yakima Training Center. Besides the training spaces available at the Yakima Training Center, Fort Lewis has abundant high-quality, close-in training areas, including live fire ranges.
