Blar Blar Bar, Chiang Mai

Blar Blar Bar is a large bar and restaurant located in the popular Nimmanhaemin area west of the Old City. Like many of the restaurant/bars in this area, Blar Blar is open air and occupies more of a garden than a building. Blar Blar is noteworthy for three reasons: first, it is the largest restaurant bar in the area and thus suitable for large groups of people, even without reservations. Second, the garden includes small details such as a fish pond and hanging swings from lighted trees, which makes it one of the nicer garden bars in the area. Third, Blar Blar offers live acoustic music music every night of the week. Expect an acoustic mix of Thai and western favorites. -Scott Johnson
