Chiang Mai German Microbrewery

It may be this bar’s slightly decentralized location behind the Carrefour near Highway 118 to Chiang Rai that keeps it from being one of the cities most popular places to drink beer. One would be hard pressed to find a fresh, locally made ale in Chiang Mai, which makes the German Brewery truly unique and very welcome. There is a German food menu to accompany the Welzen, Lager and Dunkel fermenting in the coppers just behind the bar. A live band playing a mix of Thai and western country hits plays nightly. The biggest crowds come on weekends, when the pack is packed. This bar is one secret not to be kept. -Scott Johnson
