Discovery, Chiang Mai

Across the street from Kad Suan Kaew Shopping Center and up a flight of stairs is one of Chiang Mai’s most popular dance clubs for late-night fun seekers. Discovery draws a mostly young and local crowd and provides the standard Thai club format of turn-tables, a stage, and  and plenty of seating. Thai clubbers come to enjoy a bottle of scotch while listening to a mix of Thai and western tunes played by a live cover band until fairly late. After most of the other bars and clubs in Chiang Mai have closed, Discovery keeps it going with DJ music until 4 in the morning. The adjacent Chiangmai Bar draws a similar crowd but puts the DJ on first. -Scott Johnson
