Overview

Come see some of Thailand's indigenous monkeys, including the crowd pleasing Macaque, a very intelligent monkey that puts on a good show. In Thailand, rural farm workers sometimes use trained monkeys to help them pick fruit in high trees. All of the monkeys at the Monkey Centre were either domesticated work monkeys or monkeys from overpopulated zoos. None were captured from the wild and have no experience living there. The monkeys have been trained using a reward, not a punishment, system and are thus very friendly with people. If you ask a staff member, they might let you feed or hold a monkey for a memorable photograph to take home. -Scott Johnson
